Mari Robeson Manifesto!

I believe designing should be approached with passion and abandon.
I believe in color, unless it’s frosted blue and on your eyelids.
I believe, when designing, be bold and never question your first instinct.
I believe fresh flowers are the best, especially wild flowers picked by a child.
I believe kids are magnificent designers and therefore they should have constant access to art supplies.
I believe life is messy and beautiful and happy and sad all at once and that in the midst of it all, miracles happen.
I believe it’s important to teach our children to be kind and say Thank You.
I believe in hand written notes and thoughtful introductions.
I believe one should have several on-going journals and stacks of tear sheets.
I believe that I’m a wife and a mom first and a million other things after that.
I believe wallpaper borders and brass fixtures are just wrong.
I believe scented candles are a must except when serving a meal.
I believe that smile lines are stunning on a man or a woman.
I believe in 8 glasses of water and breathing deeply everyday.
I believe in using all my resources and never saying I can’t.
I believe it’s critical to be kind to everyone, because everyone is working on something difficult.
I believe music is an essential element in a beautiful space.
I believe that a child’s room is their little corner of the world and it should be absolutely magical and divine.
I also believe that when you give a child that space, the parents won’t leave it.
I believe there’s no greater turn on than a man that loves, talks, and plays with his children.
I believe in using the good stuff everyday.
I believe good design is worth every penny!
